What is the Blog Post skill?
The Blog Post skill is how Moonrank's Writer Agent turns a brief into a publishable draft: the direct answer up top, one question per section, a number or example behind every claim, and a single CTA matched to where the reader is.
It's written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Read it to tighten your own drafting process, hand it to your writers as a house style, or let the Writer Agent draft against your live briefs.
Downloading the playbook is free with a Moonrank account. Drafting from your query data on a schedule, week after week, is what the Writer Agent does.
See it in action
“Our posts read fine but never rank, and nobody finishes them. What's actually wrong?”
Your last post buries its answer in paragraph six, covers three loosely related questions, and makes 14 claims backed by zero numbers. The rewrite: a 50-word direct answer above the fold, the two off-topic sections cut and queued as their own posts, and a specific figure or example behind each remaining claim. Same topic, 40% shorter, one takeaway a reader can repeat.
From input to fix list
- 1
You provide the brief
The target query, the reader, and the one takeaway — or an Article Brief that contains them.
- 2
Moonrank writes the answer first
A quotable 40–60 word direct answer sits above the fold before anything else is drafted.
- 3
It builds one section per question
Each H2 answers exactly one question from the brief, with a number or example behind every claim.
- 4
It links and closes
Internal links with descriptive anchors where readers need them, and one CTA matched to funnel stage.
Everything it checks
Direct-answer opening
A 40–60 word answer a reader or a language model can quote verbatim.
First-100-words test
The argument and why the ranking pages miss it, before the first scroll.
One-job sections
Every H2 paired with the single question it answers — or cut.
Inline proof
A number, example, or source behind each claim, not a link dump at the end.
Intentional internal links
2–4 links with descriptive anchors, placed where the reader would ask for them.
Single CTA
One next step at the end, matched to the reader's funnel stage.
When to reach for it
- Turn an approved brief into a publishable draft the same day.
- Stop publishing posts that summarize page one instead of beating it.
- Give every buyer question its own focused, quotable page.
- Enforce one house drafting standard across writers and agents.
- Fill a weekly calendar without the quality drifting.
