What is the Schema Markup skill?
The Schema Markup skill is how Moonrank's SEO Agent makes a site machine-readable: choosing the right schema.org type per template, generating JSON-LD from real page data, connecting entities into one graph, and validating everything before it ships.
It's written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Read it to mark up your own templates, hand it to a developer as a spec, or let the SEO Agent generate and validate the blocks itself.
Downloading the playbook is free with a Moonrank account. Watching the enhancement reports and catching markup that silently breaks is what the SEO Agent does after every deploy.
See it in action
“Our competitors get review stars and FAQ dropdowns in Google. We get a plain blue link. How do we catch up?”
Your 340 product pages have ratings and prices in the HTML but zero structured data — Product markup on that one template makes all 340 eligible for stars and price snippets. Your 26 support articles are ready-made FAQPage candidates. And your Organization block is missing entirely, which is why AI assistants cite your old address. Three template changes, roughly 370 pages covered.
From input to fix list
- 1
You provide your templates
The page types in scope and access to the rendered HTML, plus your entity facts if you have them centralized.
- 2
Moonrank maps content to types
The agent picks the most specific schema.org type each template's content honestly supports.
- 3
It generates connected JSON-LD
Blocks built from real page data, linked with @id so the site reads as one entity graph.
- 4
It validates and monitors
Rich Results Test and schema.org validation before shipping, enhancement reports after.
Everything it checks
Template inventory
What each template contains, and the rich result each one could qualify for.
Type mapping
The most specific schema.org type the content honestly supports, per template.
JSON-LD generation
Complete blocks built from real page data, with every source field documented.
Entity graph linking
@id connections so the organization, site, and pages read as one graph.
Two-validator check
Rich Results Test plus schema.org validation, errors fixed before warnings.
Enhancement monitoring
Search Console reports watched so broken markup doesn't cost rich results silently.
When to reach for it
- Qualify product pages for stars and price snippets in the SERP.
- Turn support content into FAQ rich results.
- Give AI assistants accurate, machine-readable facts about your business.
- Ship a developer a validated JSON-LD spec instead of a schema.org link.
- Find out why existing markup earns no rich results.
