What is the SEO Performance Review skill?
The SEO Performance Review skill is how Moonrank's SEO Agent produces the review that would otherwise take a day to assemble. Six sections in a fixed order — executive summary, keyword rankings, backlinks, technical health, AI visibility, next actions — each read from the workspace's own connected data, each closing with a one-line insight.
It carries two framings. For a site already being worked on, it reads as progress against what was agreed and what the next sprint holds. For a site being evaluated, it reads as where visibility is being lost and what closing each gap is worth. Same data, different question.
It's written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Read it to structure your own reporting, hand it to a client as the method behind their monthly review, or let the SEO Agent produce it from your workspace.
See it in action
“Give me the August review before tomorrow's call.”
Clicks up 12% on flat impressions — CTR did the work, driven by two comparison queries that moved from position 9 to 4. Three queries at Risk, all in the pricing cluster, all lost to a competitor's new page. Domain rating held at 51 with four placements received. Two critical technical issues open since July. AI visibility 14%, six invisible prompts. Five actions, the first being the pricing cluster, because that is where the losses and the revenue both sit.
From input to fix list
- 1
You pick the period and framing
Month or quarter, against the one before; performance review or opportunity assessment.
- 2
Moonrank reads every connected source
Search Console, backlinks, the stored audit, AI visibility — with unavailable modules named, not skipped.
- 3
It writes the six sections
Fixed order, every figure from a table above it, an insight closing each.
- 4
It ends with five actions
Each grounded in a finding from the review, with effort, impact and owner.
Everything it checks
Executive summary with a visibility index
Position bands weighted into one number that moves when rankings really move.
Keyword status vocabulary
Win, Risk, Watch, Stable, New, Lost — the same labels every month.
An opportunity block
Queries ranking 21+ with the traffic they would earn at position 5.
Backlink and technical modules
Domain rating movement, placements, and open issues by severity with the fix.
AI visibility as GEO readiness
Mention and citation share, invisible prompts, and the top competing brand.
Two framings
Progress for an existing site; gaps and their value for one being evaluated.
When to reach for it
- Produce the monthly review in minutes rather than a day.
- Answer 'what did SEO get us' with figures and causes.
- Evaluate a site before investing in it.
- Keep status labels and section order identical month to month.
- Leave a meeting with five actions instead of six charts.
